It is the rarest of finds that a person can maintain a gentle and loving spirit amongst the chaos and confusion that our society is presently trying to survive through. Today we honor Severia Franklin for being that vessel of love and light.

A receptionist for the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office in Quincy, Florida, Severia went home to glory on August 23, 2020, at the age of 71 after a battle with COVID-19. She will be missed dearly by many. Coworkers, friends, and family alike are mourning the loss of someone as caring and compassionate as Severia.

Not only did Severia play an important role in the Sheriff’s Office, but she was also a dedicated member of the Tabernacle M.B. Church, where she served on the leadership of the Missionary Society and Deaconess Board. She is survived by her husband and five children, who were taken by surprise by her falling ill. According to WCTV, they never expected to lose their mother this way. “She made you feel special,” one of Severia’s daughters said. “She made you feel loved and you felt her love. If you knew her, you felt the love.”

Severia had a smile that could light up a room and a caring spirit that made her a jewel of the department and a gem in the hearts of her loved ones. They look forward to seeing her again so they can dance and rejoice on the streets of Heaven.
