Friend of Miss Dixie

Aunt Dixie was very dear to me. We slept a bed apart in the dorm and both became sick at the same time. We were both fighting for our life at the same outside hospital. It hurts to know that I came back and she didn't. She was a beautiful person and heaven has gained another angel. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Friend of Miss Dixie Murphy

Miss Dixie Murphy was lost to us at Fla. Women’s Reception Center last year due to Covid-19. As a current sufferer of COPD this illness hit her hard and she was hospitalized never to return to our company.

“Aunt Dixie” as we all lovingly referred to her cast a special light in the darkness of prison. She always spoke kind words and was near and dear to her family that she was eager to finally make it home to. Working at Crafts for Convictions she was part of a team that provided blankets and hats to babies in the hospital. Aunt Dixie’s special task was to sew bags for the girls going home so that on the bus you were not so easily identified by your blue mesh canteen bag!

She will always be remembered for her Easter bunnies she hung up for Easter right before Covid hit!
