Andrew Alexander Ayers of Milton, Delaware departed from the living on April 8, 2021. Born December 10, 1962, Andrew lived to be 58. Known affectionately as “Big Slim,” he is remembered for his fun-loving personality and good-natured jokes. A member of a large family, he is survived by one son, Andrew Edwards, his parents, Margaret Ayers and Andrew Knox, and six siblings.

A football and baseball player in his youth, Andrew was an avid fan of the Oakland Raiders. In baseball games, he would knock the ball out of the park to ensure he made it to first base.

Andrew loved Christmas cookies and would eat them two to three months after the holidays had passed. He would often wait until his sister left for work to raid beloved home-cooked meals from her kitchen.

Everyone who loves Andrew has a “Slim story” that leads to fond memories. His family will miss him tremendously. They cherish and celebrate all the days of his life.

This memorial was written by MOL team member Ladrina Johnson with information from an obituary from The Cape-Gazette.
